Thank you for your support!
Thank you to everyone that had a hand in helping us win the primary. I appreciate every vote that was cast, every sign that was put up, every card that was given out, and especially every prayer that was prayed for us during the past few months.
Denny King
For Haywood County Commissioner
iiiii
Denny is a fourth generation native of Haywood County.
He married his lovely wife Debbie 29 years ago, and together they have four wonderful children, which is one of the reasons he is running for office.
Denny has worked in private industry for over 30 years. His degree is in mechanical engineering, and has worked as a certified quality engineer and is presently in the role of manufacturing engineering. He currently has two patent applications in. In 2009 he was awarded the BWA Innovation Award for leading in the development of a new automated process for a major automotive parts firm. As an engineer he works on challenging projects that must be completed within budget and on schedule. These skills will help with the decision making as a commissioner.
Denny earned the rank of Eagle Scout, and he is active in his local church.
Our government at every level has grown too large. We spend too much, borrow too much, and tax too much. As our government grows, we find ourselves losing the liberties and freedoms our founding fathers worked and died for.
Have we forgotten the role of government? Do our elected officials realize their primary role is to protect the individual rights of its citizens? That it is their responsibility to enact only minimum regulations that are necessary to serve and protect the rights we are granted by our constitution?
It is time we push back on the bombardment of never ending rules, regulations, and increased taxes that stifles prosperity and our pursuit of happiness.
If elected, I will support private property rights and no new taxes. I will work to cultivate an environment that is pro-business to help create jobs. I will support reversing the over spending and over borrowing path we are on.
In Haywood County I worked with hundreds of people to help defeat a proposed Nuisance Ordinance and a proposed Solid Waste Rule. Some of the constitutional issues people were concerned about with the proposals were private property rights, unreasonable searches and seizures, and cruel and unusual punishment.
When a commissioner is elected into office they take an oath to uphold the US and State Constitution. I will take that oath seriously. Our country was set up for minimal interference in the lives of individuals. My decisions will be in line with the U.S. and N.C. State Constitutions.
